This issue is one of the issues that I never understood. I would say 90% of my friends who are married never applied for a free land from the Public Authority for Housing Welfare. Most of them complain of not having their own home and about constantly renting and moving from one place to the other. When I tell them to apply to get a free land. They either reject because they want better locations or they keep delaying for no reason. The problem is that most of them have been waiting for more than 10 years and still didn’t apply because of this hope of getting a land very close to Kuwait City. The main issue is that the free interest loan of 70,000 KD is being inflated big time and it is being inflated more on yearly basis. The value of this 70,000 10 years ago is much more than what it is today. By the time they receive the lands by 2030-2040. The 70,000 KD will be the cost to build 2 small rooms only. The other issue is that lands became smaller where the size used to be 600 meters, and now it is 400 meters. I believe it will continue shrinking over time, so the best thing to do. Is just to apply and secure something rather than constantly waiting for something that most probably won’t happen. It is puzzling when I see most of my friends living at their parents home with other siblings who are married as well and they complain about the house being congested and they still never apply for a free land. My recommendation is to get any land ASAP. Securing something even if it is far for the time being is better than not securing anything at all.

Few days ago, I tried International Mill dried strawberry for the very first time. I literally couldn’t stop, eating one after the other. I was told that it doesn’t contain any sugar so think of it as a healthy snack. At the beginning I thought it is just a dried strawberry, but when I carefully looked at the texture. It appeared to be made into that form and look like strawberry and then they add the strawberry seeds on it to make it look more real. I usually go to Al-Hamra Tower to buy the dried strawberry from International Mill. Today I found out that they sell directly through their website. I also found them on Deliveroo but I was afraid to order because they have a picture of dates for the dried strawberry. I am afraid they go by the picture not the description, so I will avoid them for now. If you ever go to International Mill, make sure to try their products. I really love the quality of their products, and I consider them the best in Kuwait.

An employee contacted me from Xcite letting me know that they are releasing the new line of Sony OLED TV’s. Right now Sony A90J is the best OLED TV available in Kuwait since the LG C1 and G1 aren’t available in Kuwait yet. Sadly I can only see Sony A90J 65″, and I don’t see the size that I am interested in which is the 83″. I believe they will eventually sell it, but lets see how much will it be priced at. Now I really want to go for an 83″ OLED TV, but the question is which TV should I buy. I am between Sony A90J and LG C1, and the reason I am reluctant to buy the C1 is because of the warranty if I buy it from B&H. There is this small risk that something goes wrong with the TV then it will be hard to fix. Once I bought a laptop that came damaged from the factory. It wasn’t turning on, so I had to find a place to fix it in Kuwait.
The thing that really surprised me at Xcite is that they priced the A90J cheaper than the US. I checked the price for the A90J at B&H. So if I decide to buy A90J, then I will buy it from Kuwait without thinking. Switch on the other hand is pricing LG OLED TV’s much more than the US, so I would take the risk and buy it from the US. The price in the US is around 630 KD for the GX 65″ and at Switch it is 990 KD. I will choose very soon, so I hope by then Switch adjust their prices to match the US.
LG C1 is a better gaming TV compared to the Sony A90J. I am leaning towards LG C1 much more than the Sony A90J, so it seems in the end I will take the risk.
Update: LG C1 is now available in Kuwait, but it is much more expensive than what I thought.

I started ordering Wahed Falafel almost everyday since I started managing one of the construction projects at the company. It all happened by mistake where I wanted to feed all the people at the project on daily basis at good prices. The first time I tried it, I saw that everyone from the labor to the managers were really happy. Since that day I started ordering whenever I have a site visit which is almost everyday. I saw that when people are happy they preform much better, and we got higher quality finishing. With time I learned that there is a way to make the falafel sandwich taste even better. I order a side of Tahina, and scoop Tahina on the sandwich after almost each bite. The falafel sandwich becomes even tastier. It became an addiction that everyone started doing the same thing.
One day I felt like to order falafel on Friday, so my wife told me to order Halloum Cheese Saj Sandwich. I tried it, and loved it. The quality of halloum is impressive. In my opinion halloum taste isn’t as consistent as the falafel, because of how long it has been grilled. I would say it is 90-95% consistent, but few times it didn’t taste as usual.
For a year I have been considering Wahed Falafel the best in Kuwait. The restaurant is super clean, the quality is very high, and their service is outstanding. I am a very loyal customer because of how they maintain such quality.

Today was really unbelievable and the experience was extremely impressive. What made my day is trying Meat Pirate and it did set a complete different standard in Kuwait. I have tried lots places in Kuwait including the most famous ones. None of them come close to Meat Pirate, because the quality of meat and the flavor is on a total different level. My cousin and I were at a construction site in Sabah Al-Ahmad Phase 2. The owner of the construction company ordered Meat Pirate the day before and he brought the following
- Short Ribs
- Whole Brisket
- Lamb Chops
- Whole Smoked Chicken
- Cheese Kofta
- French Fries
- Mexican Corn
- Mexican Rice
When the order arrived, it was very warm. It helped that we were very close to the restaurant, so I don’t know how the experience will be if the delivery location isn’t close to the restaurant. The packaging was really nice, and it was well organized. The way they arranged the food items with wrap and stickers made it very simple for us. There were salads, sauces, and plastic utensils in the boxes. The first impression was perfect, but the real surprise was when we opened the Short Ribs and Brisket. Even the whole smoked chicken was packed in an impressive way. Everything we opened looked great, and the moment we took a bite of the short ribs and brisket, it literally took me to a different world. The meat was as tender as a butter. The quality is really really high, and you really could tell that they use the highest quality ingredients in the market. I don’t know any restaurant that sells ribs and briskets that offers such quality. I heard that some restaurants when they first started they offered high quality meats, but once they became famous they started switching to cheap quality meats assuming people won’t realize. People always do realize when restaurants offer lower quality ingredients in order to book higher margins.
At Meat Pirate I enjoyed the short ribs the most. The whole brisket was amazing as well. The smoked chicken had an amazing flavor, a flavor that I have never tasted ever. The fries and Mexican corn went well with everything we ordered. Today was one of my happiest days ever, and I can’t wait to eat there again.

I can’t believe that I am playing on Xbox more than Playstation these days. The only reason I play Xbox is because PSO2 / PSO2 New Genesis. I am enjoying the game a lot even though it is so laggy. The game is much smoother than the previous one in terms of gameplay. PSO2 game is the type of game where I don’t have to think at all, I lay on the sofa and press the controller buttons without thinking. This is more of a game I play when I am really bored. I did pre-order Ratchet & Clank on PS5 but I still didn’t play it. I never played the previous ones, but I decided to give this one a shot. I really enjoy playing Playstation Exclusives, and until now Game Pass didn’t resonate with me. I enjoy playing the AAA games made by Playstation Studios.

This is a very interesting generation and I can’t wait for the AAA releases this year.

I guess I am always late to catch up with trends. After a while of having my friends telling me to try one of the secret menu items at Five Guys. I decided to give it a shot, even though I was a bit reluctant. The secret menu item is called Patty Melt, which is a patty and other toppings stuffed between a grilled cheese sandwich. I can’t believe that I enjoyed it much much than a regular burger. Even when it comes to delivery, it doesn’t get as soggy as a burger. Now Patty Melt is my favorite option at Five Guys, but make sure to order it in person to experience it right. It is OK when it comes to delivery, but everything in person tastes much better. At Deliveroo, they limit you to add 1 patty only, and can’t do double or triple patties. But when you go in person, you can do whatever you want, for me a single patty is enough.
