Less than a year ago, I got the LG C1 OLED TV. Back then that was the best gaming TV in the market. Of course OLED TV was and still very impressive, but it has it cons as well. The brightness is known to be one issue and the other is the possibility of burn in. Such issues doesn’t exist with QLED TV’s, and they come with their own issues such as less contrast between black and the other colors. Now the best of both OLED and QLED are combined into QD OLED, and they are finally available in Kuwait. So far there is two companies that are offering QD OLED TV’s, which are Sony and Samsung. The only limitation is that they come in 55″ and 65″ sizes only. I really want a 77″ or 83″ for my next upgrade which will be few years away.
A lot of people are asking about upgrading their TVs for Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X. The question is how to take advantage of the capabilities of the new consoles. The first thing to keep in mind that both PS5 and Xbox Series X support 4K and 120Hz. Sadly there aren’t many TV’s that support 120Hz right now and especially in Kuwait. HDR 10 is another component that is really important, so don’t miss it out.
If you have a TV that support 4K and 120Hz you must use HDMI 2.1 cable, which a lot of people didn’t know about. Not only that, you have to use the HDMI 2.1 slot in the TV as the other slots could be normal HDMI slots. My favorite TV’s has been always OLED TV’s but there aren’t many options in Kuwait. The best ranked gaming TV isn’t available in Kuwait at all, and I have no clue if they will ever bring it to the market or not. Now we will focus on the best gaming TV’s with 4K or 8K, 120Hz, and HDR10.
LG CX/GX 4K Line
LG CX/GX 77 inch 4K Smart OLED TV is ranked the best gaming TV in the market. This is the TV I really want to buy, and it will be available in Kuwait in 2-3 months. A lot of people are waiting for it to be released, and some already bought it from B&H or UAE. In terms of specs, it is one of the highest specs in the market. I will compare it with the new Sony A90J and decide which one to buy
Sony X900H 4K Line
This is the first line that Sony listed as Playstation 5 ready. This is a more affordable line than the Z8H which comes in 8K. For those who bought the X900H line, the update rolling right now will trigger the 4K 120Hz.
The Z8H is available at Xcite right now, but it is a very expensive. I honestly wouldn’t buy 8K right now, so I will wait for prices to drop before switching to 8K TV’s. I think it will still take few years until it becomes a standard in the market. This is other line that Sony listed as Playstation 5 ready as well.
My friends have been buying TVs from this line. They love it so far, but there is a newer line that isn’t released in Kuwait yet which is the Q80T and Q90T. The Q80T & Q90T are recommended much more than the Q70T. I personally saw them playing on the Q70T and it was really great. If someone wants to buy it, I would say wait few more months until they release the Q80T/Q90T.
This line is similar to Sony Z8H 8K Line and both are very expensive, because they are 8K. I can find this line in multiple retailers in Kuwait, but I still wouldn’t buy it yet due to the price.
From all of these options, I am interested in LG 77 GX OLED TV. I believe that OLED TVs look the best when it comes to gaming, so I will monitor the upcoming TVs and update this list.
