My family have a gathering every Saturday, and today’s meal was steak. Most of the family members wanted Entrecote sauce and fries with the steak. My cousin who is a really great chef gets the raw fries and sauce from Relais Entrecote, which is at Salhiya, Murooj, and Avenues Gardens. Some people get confused with the other Entrecote, which is at Al Hamra, Al Fanar, Avenues, and 360 Mall. Friends and family always get confused between the two, and some think that the sauce has changed, but they don’t know that they are two different concepts looking almost the same. Anyway, I went to Al Hamra branch of Entrecote because it is next to my home, and I asked to buy raw fries and sauce for 10 people. The lady told me that she can’t sell me the fries but she can sell me the sauce. I asked for 10 small 8oz containers, so she asked her manager to take my order. He freaked out when he heard that I asked for 10, and told me that he can only sell 1-2 max. I told him that at Salhiya they sell whatever number I ask for. He called the HR to ask for the maximum number that they call sell, so the HR told him to sell a max of 3 containers. They made it such a big deal like I am buying their secret recipe, so I said you know what let me buy the 3 and go to the other branch. I bought 3 containers and went to Al Fanar branch, and when I asked to buy 9 containers, the manager freaked out much more than the one at Al Hamra. He said I can’t sell more than one container. I said you know what let me stick to Relais Entrecote and make my life much easier. I went to Salhiya branch, and I bought both the raw fries and 10 container of sauce. Relais Entrecote was much easier to deal with and much more flexible. So if anyone wants to buy their raw fries and sauce, go to Relais Entrecote at Salhiya, Murooj, and Avenues Gardens. My cousin uses the Relais Entrecote sauce with the Wagyu tomahawk, and it is really amazing. I highly recommend it, because it is a very unique experience having Relais Entrecote at home. Try it out and let me know what you think.

The last few days, a lot of my friends are talking about two places. The first place is a burger restaurant called Thinnies which became really popular in Kuwait. I was really surprised to see a burger concept becoming that popular during these times where there are so many burger joints in the market. When I check Talabat or Deliveroo, I get lost from the amount of burger joints, so they should have something special to be that trendy in Kuwait. The second place is a place we all know, but never thought they will ever sell a sandwich. Le Relais de l’Entrecôte, which is the steak concept located at Salhiya and Murooj and now they are selling baguette sandwiches with the steak, fries, and their popular green sauce. A lot fo my friends told me to try it ASAP before they remove it from the menu, so I went to Salhiya right after they opened. They open at 7 PM, and I was there exactly at 7:05 PM. I couldn’t believe that there were so many cars ahead of me. It was really creative to turn a dine in steak restaurant to a to go sandwich place. I ordered a baguette sandwich with extra sauce on the side. The sandwich was good, but I felt the ratio was a bit off where it had slightly more bread that what it suppose to. The other thing was I wished I ordered the sauce on the side, so I add the sauce before I eat, because part of the bread became soggy by the time I arrived home. I highly recommend getting extra sauce because it made it much better. It was worth trying, but it isn’t something that I will be addicted to.
I can’t believe how much things have changed after the spread of corona virus in Kuwait. I never thought that one day I will be able to order from Slider Station and Starbucks for delivery. The corona virus changed the industry so fast and it is challenging for lots of businesses, but this is when you see new ideas in the industry. I like the fact that people in Kuwait were very quick to come up with ideas that increases their sales. Now you see cook your own meal boxes or BBQ boxes across most restaurants in Kuwait. In the past, it was mostly burgers, hotdogs, kebabs, tawook, and tikka. Now it ranges from shawarma to steak. Let me share some of the concepts that I never thought will ever sell cook your own meal boxes even if it falls into the category of burgers and kebabs.

It is extremely innovative for steak, shawarma, and pizza. This is an industry changer. I am waiting for KFC to make fry your own chicken, I am getting hungry already !
